Project Statement:

Photography has been an interest of mine since around sixth grade, when my older friends in high school would show me the incredible images they had produced. For a while photography was the only art form that appealed to me, however at the beginning of this year one of my close friends, who is an avid ceramic artist, gave me the idea of combining my art, photography, with hers, ceramics. I decided to try it for my senior initiative project, and I’m elated by the results. Each piece still has the visual aspect that initially drew me into photography, however, these pieces also have an active component that brings each piece into the third dimension and allows for a stronger connection between each individual and the piece itself.
